Profanity

But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. (Colossians 3:8)

Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. (Ephesians 4:29)

As of late I have noticed a lot of Profanity coming from some popular Christian users. Some of these users are using it out of anger, which while still not good, is a lot better than using it to insult people or just for the sake of using it. Let me again point out that using it in anger is still bad but i understand slip ups, but even as I struggle with anger and the use of profanity I am actively trying to stop. Why do we use words to put people down and to sound cool or assertive? Us as Christians should be the light of the world and we should be setting the example for everyone! Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe. (1 Timothy 4:12).  I know that no one is perfect but lately I have seen that when people do a post that is not Christ related they act as if they can turn off their faith or their Christian identity but people see this and will probably see us as a bunch of hypocrites. I am guilty of getting caught up arguments or when im with friends and they are cursing to make a point and I sometimes get sucked into it but I try my best to stop and to take myself out of those situations. We should be building people up instead. I know that maybe I am being a bit hard on everyone but I felt that this needed to be said. Love you all, i really do and im sorry for being angry. Praying for you all. God bless.
